Podcast: (Zoloft) Zombie Nightmare

Oh, hey, remember when we said we would watch the 1987 Jon Mikl Thor sorta-vehicle Zombie Nightmare and discuss it in time for Halloween? Well, here it is, just in time for…Thanksgiving. Yeah, we kinda screwed the pooch on that one, but bear with us, because we also have a lot to share about Zach’s 15 minutes of infamy with Team Breezy, the bizarre public meltdown of actor/model/singer/relationship guru/visual artiste Tyrese Gibson, and the forthcoming debut of Dystopian Dance Party in physical form! Also, we talk about our embarrassing physical and mental health ailments.

Podcast: Brought to You by AnuSol

Look, people, when we said we were going to talk about whatever we want on the podcast from here on out, we meant what the fuck we said. So this episode, along with the usual discussion about art, old music, and video games, we also swap stories about our past and present butt problems. If you can make it through that, though, we go on to discuss the growing trend of famous sexual predators being aired out, the Halloween-friendly films of Nicolas Cage, and…oh, shit, we also go into way too much detail about that old urban legend with Rod Stewart sucking off a bunch of sailors. Look, this is obviously a ploy for attention, so just give us what we want and listen, okay?

Dystopian Halloween Party Podcast: Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare

Well, here it is: coming in two days after Halloween, but better late than never, we have our first-ever podcast. This is something we’ve been talking about doing for a while, and overall it was pretty fun–even if we’re both so unprofessional that it required hours of post-editing to make us listenable. And yes, this being our first attempt, the whole thing is a little rough around the edges, sound quality-wise; but that’s all part of the charm of podcasting, right? …Right?

Anyway, to launch this new monthly feature, we could think of no better topic of discussion than the 1987 direct-to-video Canadian horror film Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare. Directed by the late John Fasano (Zombie Nightmare, Black Roses, The Jitters) and written by/starring bodybuilder-turned-cult-metal-frontman Jon Mikl Thor, Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare (also known as The Edge of Hell) was made on a shoestring budget and is still remembered today–if at all–for its cheeseball effects and good-natured Canadian butt-rock soundtrack. Needless to say, it’s a favorite of ours, and we take our time discussing everything from the infamous van scene to the absolutely bonkers climax. I hope you enjoy it. Listen below, and check after the jump for a chronological list of the music played and the scenes discussed.
