For the last several weeks, I’d been kicking around an idea for a short video series in which Callie and/or I indulge in one of our favorite pastimes and visit a used record store. I figured we wouldn’t get around to shooting one until the fall; but then, while on family vacation with my son and my girlfriend over Fourth of July weekend, I came across Gidget’s Gadgets: a nice little vinyl and collectibles shop in the unlikely locale of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The resulting footage was shot with no preparation, a half hour on the parking meter, and barely any space left on my iPhone, all while trying to make sure my four-year-old didn’t destroy anything–in other words, it’s a little rough around the edges. But I figured I’d throw it up on the blog anyway, with my assurances that the next one will be better. Thanks to Kia Matthews for the nicer-looking shots, and to Arabian Prince and the Sheiks for the beach-appropriate music.

Thank you! Did not expect to find a cool little shop like yours in a beach town.
