Here it is: the inaugural episode of our new series of video game playthroughs, Dystopian Video Game Party! Like everything else D.D.P., it’s a little rough around the edges: as we note toward the beginning of the video, this is actually our third try recording the game, after technical problems rendered the first two takes unusable. So please forgive our perfunctory attitude toward the first hour or so of the game, because it was our third time playing it in 72 goddamn hours.
We’ll be posting new episodes of Dystopian Video Game Party every two weeks or so, as we’re able to get together and play; Zach will post the occasional solo playthrough as well. We’re starting with one of our mutual favorite games: 1995’s EarthBound for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Hope you enjoy it!
(You can purchase EarthBound on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U. You can also buy Gene Simmons’ autobiography, Kiss and Make-Up
, from Amazon (it makes sense if you watch the video). And if you just can’t get enough of us talking about the SNES, check out our podcast from last month.)
